LISTEN TO YOUR CLIENTS. First Interview with a Potential Client. Videographers.

By assuming that the audience is varied, I also recognize the ineffectiveness of sales mechanisms set out to expose stereotyped sales offers, and alternatives. No matter how long I have swum and dived into the same river, each time a potential client sits in front of me, I return to shore. This does not mean I am unfamiliar with my experience or dismiss what has been learned in practice, I mean, beyond that expertise, imagine the precise needs of the person who has walked into the studio, or pretending that my sales pitch is headed for directions covering the whole of their expectations, now becomes a very elusive goal to be able to reach.

It is For all these reasons that I sharpen my perception at the first interview, I am attentive to details, listen to their demands and I allow the potential client to elaborate in the comments; but just as I listen and look at the person who has visited me, maybe she is also evaluating my lightness, or depth to deal with issues, although I might not notice this. In my view, it is in the first conversation, in that initial interview, and perhaps the only opportunity, where a significant bond is formed with the person who has visited us, perhaps crucial as to if we are hired or not.

According to my way of seeing things, the final quality of our product can be seen as a mosaic, where the technical level achieved in the embodiments we make available to the client is only a fragment; it is true that for some it will be the most important, but I can ensure that for most it is not. I know that a good number of people look to the video maker for a set of characteristics, in which where honesty has great weight, a value that should also emerge at the time of the interview.

Recently, exploring the etymology of some words, I learned that the word “sale” would have its origin in an Indo-European etymon which we could translate as: “price”. Perhaps this is why even today many conceive, mistakenly for me, that the success of the sale is only linked to the price.

In conclusion I would like to add that before or after showing our work, we should not forget to show how we are, because our product also grows or depreciates when the potential client links this piece to contractual mechanism.
