Moses Hacmon is an Israeli-born architect, writer, researcher, and entrepreneur. Prolab Digital was honored to help bring his revolutionary photography methods to life in next week’s new exhibition entitled: “Faces of Water.”

“The first thing you have to understand,” Moses says, “is that water is invisible. It’s dense, but light still goes through it. It’s not reflected back to your eyes. You can tell there’s water in the glass, but you can’t see it. If the glass was square you’d never know it was there.”

This is the central premise of Moses Hacmon’s new gallery exhibition entitled, “Faces of Water” opening in Los Angeles next week. Using a complex system of nanoparticulates, film negatives, and moving water, Moses has been able to capture the earth’s most ubiquitous resource in a completely new light.
The result is both startling and compelling. The images swirl and splash in unexpected ways, revealing intimations of faces and familiar shapes that exist only for the millionth of a second they are exposed to Moses’ lens.

“I was lucky to find Prolab Digital. My vision was to print them on aluminum. How do you print it huge, lightweight and travel-friendly? I developed a lacquered finish with Prolab that’s lightweight. That’s what made it happen.”
