PPC exists to educate photographers in their business and photographic skills and to provide networking opportunities for its Members and other industry professionals.

PPC has fifteen local Affiliates in California and is a state Affiliate of the Professional Photographers of America. Currently, Membership is approximately 500 strong.

Each year, PPC hosts a week-long school, West Coast School, in San Diego, and a four-day trade show and conference, Pro Photo Expo and Conference, at the Pasadena Convention Center. PPC also offers many other workshops and events throughout the year.
